Conference News

The 4th Annual National Conference on Girl Bullying and other forms of Relational Aggression will be held June 25 – 27, 2010 in San Antonio, TX. The conference is organized around providing teachers, administrators, social workers, therapists, and parents strategies for helping to minimize girls’ involvement in relational aggression, cyber-bullying, and violence. It’s unclear from the site – and the schedule – if actual girls will be participating in the conference. I would hope so – since it’s important to recognize girls’ voices and their expert opinions on their daily lives and experiences. Most of the schedule is up online for anyone interested in attending this conference.

Unfortunately, the conference is pricey with early bird registration costing $325 (that’s more than this lady can afford!!!). Plus the conference is happening at the same time as session one for Girls Rock Camp Austin – all of which means I won’t be making it this time. But if you or someone you know is able to attend and would like to report back – let me know. I’d love to hear what parents and professionals (and girls?) have to say on the matter of girls and relational aggression.
