FYI: SXSW news for Girl Filmmakers

Quick note: the Austin School of Film is hosting its 5th Annual SXSW Film Youth M.A.F.I.A. Day Film Festival & Screening on March 13th and 14th. The Festival gives teens (ages 14-19) a chance to work in small groups and script, shoot, and edit a 5 minute short film within 24 hours. The teen-made films are then screened during SXSW. The event is free (awesome!) BUT each teen team must bring their own DV camera. Everything else from mentors to editing equipment and meals are provided by ASoF. Further information, including who to contact to sign up for the Festival, can be found on ASoF’s website.
